Meeting with scientists from foreign universities
On September 29, 2016, acting of the rector of PSPI Altynbek Nukhuly, the Vice-rectors, the deans of the faculties and the leaders of the leading structural divisions of the PSPI met with the delegation of scientists from Lithuania and Turkey in the Pavlodar State Pedagogical Institute. There were the rector of the Vytautas Magnus University, the Professor Josas Augutis, the dean of the faculty of natural sciences Saulius Mickevicius, the head of the pedagogical programs of the department of educational sciences Odeta Norkute and the Professor of Turkish Gazi University by Professor Yücel Gelişli.
The main direction of the PSPI policy in the field of international cooperation is integration into the global educational space. That is why the development of international relations, the development of educational and scientific projects belongs to the priorities of the university.
PSPI maintains links with many foreign universities, one of which is the Vytautas Magnus University, a memorandum of cooperation with which was signed in 2014. Since the beginning of cooperation between universities, active work has been carried out under the academic mobility program – twenty students were sent to the Vytautas Magnus University. In April 2016, PSPI organized language courses for lecturers and students, 30 lecturers and 23 students of the university received certificates from the Vytautas Magnus University. The Department of Biology of PSPI cooperates with colleagues from Lithuania in the field of improving molecular genetic methods of research.
“We are interested in strengthening cooperation between our universities in the field of academic mobility, preparing joint educational programs and research projects, developing a two-diploma education”. – Acting of the rector of PSPI Altynbek Nukhuly said. He presented guests with a detailed presentation on the activities of the university, on the prospects for development, after which a fruitful discussion was held on the preparation of joint educational programs and scientific activities. The following issues were considered: academic mobility of lecturers and students, development of joint research projects, organization of joint seminars and conferences, distance-learning courses.
One of the key directions of interuniversity cooperation is the development and implementation of joint educational programs aimed at providing students with the opportunity to study at foreign universities and obtain two diplomas - PSPI and a diploma from a foreign partner university. On September 30, a memorandum of understanding was signed between the PSPI and the Vytautas Magnus University on the degrees “Social pedagogy” and “Biology”, which will allow students to receive two higher educations at the bachelor’s level.
“I am sure, our universities have brilliant prospects for cooperation, which must be maximally, optimally and competently implemented”. Rector of UVM Josas Augutis said.
In addition, PSPI signed a memorandum of cooperation with one of the largest universities in Turkey – the Gazi University on this spring. In April, Doctor PhD Yücel Gelişli lectured in the degree “Social Pedagogy and Self-Cognition” for second-year students. Conducted a scientific and methodological seminar “Innovative technologies in the educational process” for lecturers of university and teachers of schools in the city and the region. Speaking at the meeting, he noted that the Gazi University is interested in further cooperation with the Pavlodar institute.
At the end of the meeting, foreign guests were introduced to the scientific library of PSPI, the museum complex, told about the work of the scientific center of biocenology and ecological studies, the laboratory of functional morphology and histology, and probe microscopy.
